#HealthNotHate is a national grassroots movement created to combat systemic racism. The campaign, the first in Canada was motivated by anti-Asian racism triggered by Covid-19. #HealthNotHate needed to dispel this perception by changing the narrative: Covid-19 is a health issue, not a race issue, and that the hate aimed at Asians was misplaced and misguided. #HealthNotHate assembled a collective of marketers, creatives, and businesspeople who came together in courage and collaboration. By harnessing Hamazaki Wong’s networks in marketing, media, film and TV, we created a national campaign that placed anti-racism front and centre offering a solution — health — to the hate that was being fomented. With 100% pro-bono and donated efforts, #HealthNotHate went national with support across the country. But there remains much to do…
